Hide and Seek

Warning: This post contain a huge spoiler. If you haven't watched the movie, just read the last paragraph :)

I like thrillers. But I only watch them at home, where I can pause the movie and drink a glass of water and when I'm not alone in the house. In any other situation, I don't watch them. They scare the shit out of me.

About this movie in particular, every single person I asked about it, said it is one of the best movies of ALL TIME. So let's watch it :)

I did and... It's very good. BUT! I knew who Charlie was. DAMMIT! Someone told me ages ago, but I have a good memory and I didn't forget. I mean, I didn't know that he was De Niro's second personality, but I knew it was Dakota's dad, in some way.

About the movie: the plot and the way that the movie was directed is very good, which means that you get more and more scared every second. BOO!

Do I even have to mention Dakota's and De Niro's acting? I mean, it's obvious that they're flawless. Dakota looks even more pale brunette. Don;t know if that's a good or a bad thing...

Oh, before I end this, I have to say one thing: when the little girl draws herself with 2 heads in the very end, is that a 'should we make a sequel' thing? It felt like it...

Good movie, but if you want to be really scared, The Others is better :) And don't try to find out the end of the movie before you watch it, it will ruin EVERYTHING!!! Got it? ok :D

PS.: Come out, come out wherever you are....

Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief

It's been a long time, huh?
Nah, not really.

Anyway, I'm here. And I watched a movie last night :D
So I'm gonna comment about it. Here.

The movie was good. Better than I expected. It's a Harry Potter wannabe: the special boy with powers doesn't know what he is capable of, the magical trio: the boy (Percy Jackson, obviously) a girl and another boy, the mission to save the world from the bad guy...

One thing that impressed me was the cast: Uma Thurman, Pierce Bronsan, Sean Bean... I mean, WTF is Pierce Brosnan doing in a teenage movie in a supporting role? He's 007 for Christ's sake!! Anyway...

Another thing that caught my eye were the boy's reactions to the stuff that was happening to him. In movies, people don't really react to the huge monster walking right by them. In this one, he had all the reactions that I thought I would have, like screaming when seeing your best friend with goat (I think it was a goat) legs, or looking surprised when you find out that your teacher is a monster and she wanted to kill you. I mean, I would.

The whole experience was awesome, I went with friends that I hadn't seen in a while. Well, except that fact that the girl who was sitting next to me kept saying that Percy looked so much like Zac Efron. I wanted to strangle her by the end of the movie :)

Good moments...

Nine

I'm a musical lover. I know that you can't really explain why is that girl who was walking on the street knew the choreography, but it's magical *-*

I saw 6 Oscar-winning actors (Daniel Day-Lewis, Nicole Kidman, Judi Dench, Sophia Loren, Marion Cotillard, Penelope Cruz). OF COURSE I wanted to see it. I was disappointed. The movie is mainly about a big director trying to make a movie. I think. The movie was so complicated that I didn't really understand the plot.

The songs are amazing. The performances are amazing. That was the only part that paid off, cause the rest of the movie wasn't good. Honestly, Kate Hudson surprised me. I didn't know how good she was as a singer. All the other performers also kicked ass :)

Anyway, this isn't a movie that I'd recommend. I'll stick with Chicago ;)

Golden Globes

OMG!!!
Awards season has started! The best part of the year :D
I should've posted this earlier, but I simply forgot... =x

Anyway, here are my thoughts on the winners :D

Starting with TV. Glee should've won EVERYTHING! It's one of my favorite shows. Lea Michele is a terrific singer and actress. She should have won. Jane Lynch too. And Matthew Morrison. The scene where he finds out about his wife's fake pregnancy is depressive. I wanted to kill her and hug him! But they won Best Comedy series. I guess I'm happy with that....

Still on TV, we jump to Drama series: Michael C. Hall won (Best Actor in a Leading role in drama series). He is really good. The whole show's awesome. But I nearly had a heart attack when Mad Men won for Best Drama series. WTF?! House and Dexter are nominees and the winner is Mad Men? Crap. Maybe I'm defending the series I love. Ok, I'm definitely defending the series I love. Sorry. Can't help it.

Julianna Margulies won for Best Actress in a Drama Series for The Good Wife. I like the show and she's good, but not award-winning good. I think she was a little overrated. As I don't watch any of the other nominees, I can't say if the award was unfair.

Motion Pictures:
HA! Robert Downey Jr.!! He wooooooooooooooooooooon! *happy dance* (Best Actor in a leading role in a Comedy or Musical, for Sherlock Holmes)
I screamed, laughed and fell off the couch all at the same time when he won. Totally priceless.
He not only won, but also made one of the best speeches of ALL TIME. He and Susan Downey are perfect together *-* I (heart) The Downeys

Meryl Streep will rule the movies world someday. She managed to be nominated for the same award for 2 (TWO) different roles. And guess who won? Meryl Streep. She's good. I got it.

Jeff Bridges, Sandra Bullock, Mo'Nique and Christopher Waltz (who totally deserved the award) were also winners.

Now, the two most important awards: Motion Picture and Director.

AVATAR?! SO FUCKING UNFAIR!!
The movie is good and shit, but it doesn't deserve it.
Screenplay, for example: Get Pocahontas' screenplay and change the names. TA DA! Avatar's screenplay.
The movie is a blockbuster. Born to sell. Not to win awards.
It has one of the most aggressive marketings I've ever seen. I wouldn't be surprised if the coke in McDonald's turned blue because of the movie. EVERYWHERE I went there was something about this movie. I was starting to think that blue monsters (aka Na'Vi) lived under my bed.
Honestly, all of that marketing didn't make me wanna see the movie. #epicfail

And don't be mistaken, I liked the movie. I really did. It's a revolution in effects and everything. I'm just worrying that people may start do consider a movie good because it's visually good. The screenplay and plot, to me, are the most important part of the motion picture.

With a simple camera and an idea you can create a masterpiece. It doesn't have to kick-ass in effects to be good.

Sherlock Holmes

Robert Downey Jr. is one of my favorite actors of all time. OF ALL TIME ~

Ok, about the movie now. AWESOME! I love this clue chasing kinda movie. Mystery, darkness, dead bodies *.* Detective movies are the best. And Sherlock Holmes is one of the most famous detectives ever.

I better explain the plot... ok. Holmes (Downey Jr *.*) and Dr. Watson (Jude Law, with a mustache...yuck) are investigating a dark magic cult (?) and they arrest the leader, Lockwood. The guy is convicted to death sentence. He 'dies', than go back to life and start to kill people, as far as we know, through dark magic. A lot happens after this, but I can't tell. Sorry.

The fight scenes are awesome! Just the two first, actually. First, Holmes analyze every angle and weakness of his opponent. Then, he explains every single hit as he makes them: What part of the body and why. In slow motion. When the guy is knocked out, you realize that he hasn't done them yet, but he's about to. He makes everything as he explained before, only this time it's in normal speed. Awesome.

Ok, you must be confused with the fight explaining. Watch the movie. You'll understand :D

Oh, and the best part: There's gonna be a sequel!!!!! OMFG!!!

Watch it. It's very good :D

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang

You can say I'm on a Robert Downey Jr crush moment. I'd agree with you.

I don't know why I got interested in this movie. All I know, is that I did. I heard good things about it, and I decided to watch it.

First of all, I like fast movies. Speed, to me, is essential. And this one is pretty quick. Too much, sometimes. There were moments that I had to go back a little to understand what had happened. Reminded me of 'Snatch.' a little.

I don't LOL with comedies. I LMAO in this one. The quotes are awesome. Val Kilmer's specially. He plays the best gay dude I've ever seen. Really good.

Downey Jr's part is perfect. Unpredictable, funny, and idiot, most of the time. His narration of the story is really cool. It's not a common narrator, that only explains what you're seeing, he talks like he's watching the movie as much as you are.

Also, they love saying fuck. Jesus, they do. And I laughed almost every time they said it.

This movie is on my top ten list. I recommend it.

see ya ;D

PS.: I know this post sucks, but i really don't wanna write right now, so...
